Low Mow April
The Sustainability Commission is promoting a "Low Mow April." During April, Brentwood residents are encouraged to limit their lawn mowing to every two weeks, with the mower set on maximum height to preserve flowering capabilities for pollinators.
The City of Brentwood is dedicated to demonstrating its commitment to a safe and sustainable, healthy community environment through the implementation of initiatives to increase the pollinator population by promoting "Low Mow April" in 2025 which encourages the growth of beneficial, natural habitats for pollinators by allowing all citizens to voluntarily postpone mowing of their lawns without repercussion. Therefore, the City's Code relating to weeds or turf grown in excess of seven (7) inches will be temporarily suspended from April 1, 2025 - April 30, 2025.
