Help for Hoarding

Hoarding is more common than you think. In 2016, the City of Brentwood expended significant resources to respond to hoarding situations that created unsafe conditions. What seems like a simple hesitation to throw away items can sometimes turn into a harmful habit that inhibits safety. This can cause a significant health hazard for you, your family, and your neighbors.

If you notice signs of hoarding, please call the City of Brentwood’s Planning & Development Office @ 314-962-4800.  The City will check-in with the homeowner and refer them to resources for support, including cleaning services and social workers/counselors who specialize in hoarding situations.
